Bohemian Nation Trading Company and Josephine "Opat" Labrador Hermano.
A design philosophy of Indian La Vie Boheme meets Contemporary Modern New York.
Opat Hermano, the famous publisher of Design and Architecture Magazine and the author of the award winning book Lamesa, teamed up with Bohemian Nation Trading Company to create Bohemian Nation's latest installation "The Office of the Viceroy."
The Office of the Viceroy incorporates the use of exotic Indian furniture and pieces infused with styles that convey the imperial majesty of old Britannia, recreating the look of British India and essence of THE BRITISH RAJ with a contemporary touch.
Opat Hermano's use of dark elegant wood furniture and aged Indian brass accessories and pieces has the period look of an old movie yet still stays loyally true to her design philosophy that incorporates her love of New York Modernism and all things Zen with the clear message that minimalism is more.
The main piece of the installation is an old Indian Brass and Wooden Trunk from the era of the British Raj that has wonderfully been transformed into a dark and handsome desk fit only for the officers and rulers of the Raj. It's the perfect centre piece of any study, office, library and even home. This desk commands respect and power.
