JOSEPHINE "Opat" LABRADOR HERMANO

A powerful woman and a true role model of a modern woman in her 70's. In fact when you meet Opat in real life, you will have great difficulty persuading yourself that she is a woman who is actually two decades older than she looks. Opat says the secret to looking eternally young is Yoga three times a week, which she has practiced for several years. Reusing to slow down, the concept of retirement is truly alien to this living legend.

Her career has been vast and enduring as the President of Santa Barbara Publishing Corporation, and the Executive Publisher of Design and Architecture magazine. She has enjoyed a prolific career in the art and design fields. A member of the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers, she has served as Vice President, Treasurer, and Auditor of its Board of Directors during various periods from 1974 to the present, and is the Interior Design Director of COB Design Group, and is a member of Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan Museum of Manila since 1997, even serving as Interim President. Her art collection further illustrates her belief in Filipino creativity and artistry. She lives in Manila and travels regularly to New York City and beyond to keep abreast with the latest design trends which the city has to offer.
